From Cancún International Airport

Cancún Airport is approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes from Bacalar via Federal Highway 307. It’s a safe, well-marked route that follows the coastline of the Mexican Caribbean.  You can rent a car, book private transportation, or take an ADO bus directly from Cancún to Bacalar throughout the day.

From Tren Maya

Bacalar has a Tren Maya station, located just 10–15 minutes from downtown. It’s the perfect option if you’re looking for a quick connection from several key points in the region.

From Playa del Carmen

From Playa del Carmen, take Federal Highway 307 south. The drive takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes, passing through natural landscapes and small Riviera Maya towns. Once you arrive in Bacalar, follow the signs toward the lagoon to reach the hotel easily.

When planning things to do in Bacalar, we recommend renting a car or booking a direct transfer, especially if you plan to visit cenotes, nearby towns, or multiple lagoon spots during your stay.

HOW TO GET FROM TULUM

Distance: Approximately 120 km (about 75 miles). The drive takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

From downtown Tulum, head to Federal Highway 307 going south (toward Chetumal/Bacalar). 
Continue driving straight along this highway. You’ll pass through several towns such as Felipe Carrillo Puerto and Limones.
Important: Please stay alert. After about 1 hour and 45 minutes of driving from Tulum, you’ll approach MiKasa—it’s located directly on Federal Highway 307, just before the town center. 
Right after passing Hotel Rancho Encantado, you’ll see MiKasa on your left. Look for the white entrance with a palapa (thatched palm) roof.
